Books, books, books!

World Book Day falls on the 4th of March and the motto for this year is to make sure that every child has access to books.  Libraries will be open soon, but there are plenty of books online to access, with some libraries donating their books for free downloads.  Oxford Owl, Monkey Pen, Free Children’s Stories are just a few websites where you can download free children’s stories for free.

Reading is vital for children’s development, not only does it improve brain connectivity, it also increases vocabulary, sentence structure as well as allowing children to experience other people’s lives and experiences through the art of story-telling.

Writing stories also stimulates the same creative part of the brain, so why not try rewriting a favourite book this World Book Day?

Check out the events on World Book Day here.

We have lots of stimulating exercises here.
